ChatGPT Launches SearchGPT in the US with Live Web Search

Note: This feature is only available to some users in the US, and most people still can’t access it.

What’s New with SearchGPT?

ChatGPT has added a new feature called SearchGPT to its iOS app. A small search icon now shows up next to the text box, meaning you can search the web directly from the app. At first, people thought this was just connected to Bing, but after trying it out, it turns out SearchGPT is a brand-new feature that works in real time.

With SearchGPT, users now get:

  • Live web search results
  • Weather updates and stock charts
  • Better layouts for viewing news articles

This is the first time ChatGPT lets you search the web directly and see real-time information, making it much more helpful for getting quick updates on different topics.

Who Can Access It?

Right now, SearchGPT is only available to a small group of users in the US. Using a VPN, some individuals from outside of the US have managed to access it. The feature currently works on iOS and the web version of ChatGPT, but it’s not yet available for Android or desktop users.

Extra Control for Users

One of the new options is that you can choose whether you want to use the search function for each query or not. This gives users more control over how they use ChatGPT and when they want to include web searches.

Early Feedback and Stats

Around 30% of iOS users in the US say they’ve seen the new search icon in their app, according to initial feedback.

This update is a big change for ChatGPT, as it now includes live web search and extra features to make the app more interactive and useful.
